Ground floor, back of the south block
The Niumoon Room
This is a room of this hotel. Nobody else operates it, it has our address and no other, and getting to it never means stepping outside. The casino is the room that held the generator, at the back of the same block as reception, under the same roof.
From the desk you turn into the inner corridor, pass the kitchen door and the store, and the room is at the end of it. Thirty paces, roofed the whole way. There is always a person on that door while the room is open and there is no other way in: the old fuel door on the north wall was blocked in 2015 and the block is visible from the garden.

- Hours Thursday to Sunday, eight in the evening until one
- Size Three tables and a counter with four stools
- Age 18, photo ID, checked on every visit
- Dress Dry and shod. The pool is twelve metres away.
The room
Three tables is what fits. On a Thursday in May one is open. Through January all three are, and then a tally runs at the casino door, twenty-four being the limit for the room and one being the number of doors.
It was a generator house, so it is thick: a 300 millimetre slab, block walls rendered inside, and a ceiling that is the underside of the roof slab with the old mounting bolts cut flush and left where they are. It is the coolest room on the property, which is why it works. There is no music. The loudest thing is the extractor, and the second loudest is the rain on the slab, which in October is loud enough to stop conversation for a minute at a time. The casino has a clock on the end wall and the staff are told to give the time the moment they are asked.
The dress line is dry and shod. The pool is twelve metres from the corridor door and people walk straight in. Nobody has ever been turned away for anything else they were wearing.
Age and identification
Colombia fixes the casino age at 18, and nobody is waved through this door, including somebody whose bed is thirty metres away.
Identification is checked on every visit, not once a stay. That includes the guest who ate dinner beside the pool an hour before and spoke to the person now on the door. A passport, a cédula, or a national ID card from another country is taken. A photo of your cédula on a phone is not your cédula, and nobody has ever argued their way past that.
No one under 18 gets into the casino at any hour, shut hours and cleaning hours alike, and that includes coming to see the old bolts in the ceiling. The answer to that is the drawing on this page.
Limits, and stopping
Limits come from the person at the casino table, settled before play starts. Say your number before you sit down and it is written down and kept to. Ask them to set one and they will, and it will be lower than the one you were thinking of.
Stopping is settled at reception, in person and in daylight if you prefer. Not at the tables, not by telephone, not by message. A self-exclusion is signed at reception, starts that night, and ends only when you ask at reception in person. Nobody at the counter can lift it.
No credit of any kind on the casino floor, and no cash machine anywhere on this property. The nearest one is in the village, nine minutes away on foot, and it is out of money about one day in four. That is not a policy, it is just true, and it has ended more evenings than any rule we could write.
No play on this site
What there is is a room behind reception at Calle 3, Palomino. Nothing else is being described on this page. The site describes a property and one room on it. No play, no stake, no account, no payment.
To play, come to the lane, show ID at the door at the end of the corridor, and sit down. That is the only entrance. Nothing on a screen is any part of it.
